General Information

Hours & Benefits: Part-Time (24 – 28.5 hours per week, year-round) after orientation. Subject to
successful completion of 90-day probationary period; no benefits.
Starting Pay:   $12.00 per hour
Schedule:        Schedule Varies – Flexibility Strongly Preferred

Position Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills and ability to follow instructions
    as assigned.
  • Experience: Customer service experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical activities in this position include, but are not limited to, frequent
    walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting; Ability
    to regularly lift up to 40 pounds (and occasionally up to 55 pounds) from floor level to above shoulder
    height. Applicants must be able to meet these requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
    Candidates should have sufficient computer skills to operate computers and use email. Vision must be
    adequate to read spine labels on materials on top and bottom shelves and computer screens.
  • Desired qualifications include the ability to work well with library users of all ages and backgrounds and
    manage challenging situations patiently and assertively in a non-confrontational manner. Must be able to
    work independently and as part of a team and show active interest in learning about the full range of
    services the Library offers.
  • Availability: Ability to work a flexible, part-time schedule to include days and weekends.
  • Skills and Competencies: Computer Skills, Communication Skills, Developing Potential, Problem-
    Solving/Decision Making.
  • A pre-employment background check is required, and candidates must be able to pass it. The applicant is
    responsible for all aspects of obtaining the required background check. Current background check results (valid within 90 days of the result date) will be accepted in place of a new background request.

    The Clearwater Memorial Public Library is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and
    Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
